Greensboro, NC -- Craft beer is brewing up business in North Carolina.
The Business Journal reports local developer, Marty Kotis, will open a $1 million microbrewery in Greensboro this fall to supply three of his restaurants with everything from cask ales to porters and stouts.
The Pig Pounder Brewery is on tap to open in October at a warehouse at 1107 Grecade Street.
Unlike other breweries that sell their products to grocery stores and other retail outlets, Pig Pounder will produce beer for Darryl's, a restaurant Kotis relaunched on High Point Road, the Marshall Free House, a British pub that will open this summer on Battleground Avenue, and a gourmet burger restaurant he plans to open on Battleground Avenue by October.
In addition to brewing beer, Pig Pounder will feature a limited hours tasting room where consumers can buy a growler.
