A recent viral video posted on the HuffingtonPost and Foodbeast got 2 Wants to Know looking beyond the hype about how to eat an apple.
Usually, your eaten apple leaves a core left behind. Food Beast estimates those tidbits amount to 15 to 30% of every apple -- thrown away! Recent articles, videos and blogs have talked about eating the apple from top to bottom. You just pop off the stem, and start eating from the top! You eat everything, including the core, and have the option of spitting out or swallowing the seeds.
Food beast says this simple change gives you more to eat and saves you money. They said if you follow the old adage "an apple a day" it would work out this way: the apples cost you $1.30 a pound, you're looking at spending $137 a year. If you eat it the old fashioned way, wasting that 15 to 30%, they say it'd cost about $42 year.
