COLFAX, N.C. -- The 2 Wants To Know FREE e-cycling event was three hours of electronic dumping madness! 557 vehicles came through the line. At one point, the line stretched all the way to the I-40 exit outside the Piedmont Triad Farmers Market.

There were so many items, Synergy had to bring in another truck Thursday night and the company had to bring even more trucks Friday morning to tackle all the TVs!

Take a look at this slideshow! Thank you to all of you who made the trip, cleaned out your garages and made a decision to keep the environment clean too!

The estimated weight total: 75,000 pounds!  While the majority of items were Tvs, there were computers, vacuums, microwaves, cellphones, stereos. You name it, it was there!

Synergy provided the e-cycling, The Piedmont Triad Farmers Market provided the venue, D.H. Griffin brought the forklift and operator, 19 young men from The Greater Piedmont Teen Challenge did the heavy lifting and Volvo Rentals On Market Street gave us light once the sun went down.

If you missed this event, there are other places to e-cycle your items. See the attached webstory, it has a link so you can find ecycling anywhere in the nation.

Remember, anytime you recycle or give away your computer, you need to wipe the hard drive of your personal information. Take a look at the links section with this story and you'll find out a safe way to do that.
