Greensboro, NC -- A ziplock bag and your left over hotel toiletries can make a difference in someone's life. It may not seem like much to you, but it is a big deal to someone struggling with homelessness.
The Interactive Resource Center is a day facility for those struggling with homelessness. They provide services like showers, laundry and haircuts. Everyday, they provide 25 showers and 50 laundry loads. That means they need sample size toiletries to give to patrons and laundry detergent fo them to use.
You can drop off your stockpiled toiletries at the day facility 407 E. Washington Street in Greensboro.
Here's another idea-- make up ziplock goody bags. When you see someone in need, hand it to them. Items to put in the bag: Toiletry items, those hotel soaps & shampoos, mouthwash, travel toothpaste and brush.
A quick source of protein like crackers, nuts, beef jerky.
And depending what season you're in either hot hands or sunscreen. Bottled water, tissues and a gift card to a fast food restaurant is also recommended.
