Greensboro, NC -- The Affordable Care Act Plans haven't been released and already there is confusion.

What do those plans mean for you? If you're on Medicare, nothing.

"I am noticing a lot more confusion because of the ACA/Obama Care. It's just because it's in the news a lot and people are worried or wondering how it is going to affect Medicare. As far as next year is concerned, I don't think people on Medicare should worry much about the ACA," says independent insurance agent Jon Isaacson.

While the ACA plans have no bearing on Medicare this year, that doesn't mean you should stop paying attention. The time to pick your plans and be covered are 10/15-12/7.

There are no sweeping changes this year for medicare. "Generally the deductibles for Part A & B increase slightly each year. There are a few new companies offering Medicare Advantage plans in the state. What is most important is knowing what plan you have and what it covers."

Jon says you have two main options:

1-Original Medicare (Parts A&B) + Part D + Medicare supplement
or

2-Medicare Advantage(Part C) + Part D (quick info on what each includes)

He equates (1) with an all-you-can-eat restaurant and (2) as al a carte.

The most important thing to do he says is to compare plans and prices. To do that 2WTK has a WEB EXTRA for your to watch. It details where to look on www.medicare.gov and www.ncdoi.com Check out the attached WEB EXTRA and have all of our plan information, your prescription and pharmacy information as well.
