UNDATED -- It's that time of year, and this week, 2 Wants to Know is talking sports! The Wyndham Championship play tees off in Greensboro on Thursday, NFL pre-season games have already started.
And we're just 16 days from the start of college football season!
Here in the Triad, college football is within driving distance, and since 2 Wants to Know is all about facts and figures, we looked at prices for tickets, parking, and a hot dog for nine nearby universities.
Ticket Prices Of course, most game ticket prices varied, depending on the competitor in town. The only university with a set ticket price was Guilford College. Adult general admission tickets are five dollars, it's $3 for youth, and free for kids under 12. You can also buy reserved seats for $10. Everywhere else, prices ranged from 15 dollars for certain Wake Forest, Elon, or Appalachian State games. The most expensive ticket we found was $65 for three different NC State games.
Parking Prices Parking policies also varied, depending on the university. According to officials at the universities, parking is free at Guilford College and Appalachian State. It's free at North Carolina A&T, but you will pay if you plan to tailgate. You have to buy a permit to park at NC State. But at Wake Forest, Elon, Winston-Salem State, UNC, and Duke parking typically stayed in the $5 to $10 range.
Hot Dogs We also compared a food that you'd be able to find at any stadium: a basic hot dog. A hot dog costs $2.50 at Guilford College, $3 at Elon, Duke, NC State and Appalachian State, $3.50 at Winston-Salem State games, and $4 at Wake Forest, North Carolina A&T, and UNC.
