Greensboro, NC -- Do you get what you pay for? 2 Wants To Know tested 30 different locations of 10 big fast food chains to see if customers really got their drive thru order their way.
At each place in Winston-Salem, Greensboro and High Point, we ordered a 32-ounce diet soda with no ice. To make sure they were really sugar-free we used medical testing supplies that detect sugar in liquids.
Out of the 30 places, two had detectable levels of sugar. Both came from Burger King. We're talking really small levels, about half a pack of sugar for a large drink.
Burger King said they would look into it. 2 Wants To Know made sure they didn't forget. Here is the company's statement:
"The Burger King® operations manual outlines strict procedures for washing, rinsing, sanitizing and air drying all components of the soda machines. The Coca-Cola company is working to ensure that all equipment in the affected restaurants is operating correctly."
